Juan Santamaría Cases
Biography
Juan Santamaría holds a degree in Civil Engineering (Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) from the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid).
Since May 2022, he has served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ACS Group (an IBEX 35 company), CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of the German group Hochtief (a German MDAX company), Executive Chairman of the CIMIC Group for Asia-Pacific and Australia, and Chairman of the Abertis Group. Previously, between February 2020 and May 2022, he was the CEO and Executive Chairman of the CIMIC Group (an ASX-listed company and the leading infrastructure group in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region).
In 2017, he was appointed Managing Director of the industrial and services company UGL; and in 2018 and 2019, he served as Managing Director of CPB Contractors in Australia and Leighton Asia, which operates across Southeast Asia from India to Hong Kong. From 2006 to 2013, he was the Managing Director of ACS Infrastructure in the US and Canada, and between 2013 and 2015, he was the President and CEO of IRIDIUM.
During 2016, he held the position of Executive General Manager for CPB Contractors in Northern, Southern, and Western Australia. Between 2002 and 2006, he held various positions at Dragados as an Engineer and Project Manager.
