Elena León Muñoz

Elena León Muñoz holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

She has held senior management positions at a global level and has chaired eight boards of directors in Europe, the United States and Latin America, overseeing strategy, investment, risks and new business opportunities, cybersecurity, ESG and financial performance, both in highly
regulated environments and in liberalised markets.

She worked for many years at Iberdrola in the roles of member of the Perseo Committee, Director of Global Planning and Regulation, Director of Technical Innovation, and Global Director of Network Business. She has also served as chair and shareholder representative on eight boards of directors of regulated electricity network companies in Spain, the United Kingdom, the US and Brazil.

She has participated in numerous interviews, articles, studies and forums.

She is currently an independent director with over 25 years’ experience in the energy and infrastructure sector.
