Acciona opens a control centre with integrated AI to monitor its operations in Peru in real time

On Wednesday, Acciona opened a new control centre at its corporate offices in San Isidro (Lima), which will enable the company to monitor its electricity transmission projects in the country in real time; these projects represent investment commitments totalling some 800 million dollars (715 million euros).

As the company explained in a press release, the facility incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge technology to centralise monitoring of the grid’s status and streamline the response to any incidents. Furthermore, it features a scalable architecture ready to accommodate future portfolio expansions.

Acciona has stated that the centre will not only support the expansion of its business but will also directly strengthen the capacity and reliability of Peru’s National Interconnected Electricity System (SEIN). The opening ceremony was attended by Peru’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno.
